Study Abroad Day 12: I said "Oh Lord Jesus it's a flood"

Hi everyone! Today was my second day of class for 'Race, Class, Gender', which I was pretty excited about as always. Although I really enjoyed reading the literature in preperation of class, I was slightly disappointed with the style of teaching. Unfortunately we did not go as deep into the material as I had hoped for and also expected. The lecturer mainly summarized the readings, rather than analysing them and starting a discussion in class. But oh well... Maybe next time it will be better? Enjoy reading!

After class I went out to another canteen I had not visited before to get acquainted with a classmate and join her for lunch. Because the weather was so nice I decided to head Downtown for a bit to get my walk on, maybe tan a little, and do some grocery shopping. Little did I know I was going to be locked in the centre until evening. As soon as I reached Downtown it started pouring like crazy! My umbrella unfortunately could not keep me dry and I arrived soaking wet at Urban Outfitters. Meh... I knew the storm was going to last for a while, so what else to do than shop for a bit?

Not wanting to spend anymore at UO (Seen as I still need to survive for a few weeks on a budget, lol), I sprinted towards Eaton Centre, of course soaking wet again. Ugh, I had to windowshop for hours until the rain was finally tolerable. On my way home I stopped by Marshall's, where I bought the cutest Hello Kitty phonecase for only five bucks, stopped by Wendy's to try out a junior burger (I was way too thrifty to spend more than two dollars on food, having food waiting for me at home), and did some grocery shopping at Metro. I bought veggies and fish, yumm!

When I got home I noticed half of my carpet was moist. I was super annoyed by this, but what to do about it? So I went to bed... Then I woke up the next morning and a friend texted me about the Toronto flood. I was like, huh what flood? Gosh, would I have known the weather was thát bad I might have panicked yesterday. It does sure explain my wet carpet and arriving home with soaked flats T^T I hope the weather will get better soon!
