Study Abroad Day 14: Unlimited Japanese food heaven

Today I overslept, and I had to rush my ass to class after taking a shower. This meant no breakfast or finishing the workout I had started the evening before. After class—which was unfortunately not thát much of an improvement compared to the previous lectures, but I still have hope—my classmate/new friend and I met up with one of her friends for lunch. We decided to have unlimited sushi at New Generation Sushi on Bloor St., yumm!

Now in The Netherlands I am pretty used to regularly having dinner at unlimited sushi restaurants. Up to a point that it is not even that special to me anymore (spoiled ass). But anyways, I was so excited about this lunch, because I had not tried the concept before in Toronto. Let me quickly list the pros of having unlimited sushi in Toronto in comparison to having it in Amsterdam (or Almere/Rotterdam). Note that this applies to the restaurants I went to, lol.

Better prices, DUH! We had dinner for 23 bucks, which is around €17. And this is a bit higher end place to be honest, there are maaany sushi restaurants all over town, where you can have unlimited lunch for 12 bucks only.
More variation on the menu. I did not count the number of items on the menu, but I was definitely impressed by the wide selection of makis available. All these kinds of rolls I had never heard of before (e.g. Chrystal roll, Dynamite, Boston maki). Also, short ribs were on the menu, several Thai curries, Korean ricecakes (!), and sashimi.
- Free water (with ice) and green tea. And there is no need to ask for a refill, because the waiters constantly walk around to refill your glass as soon as it is starts to get empty.
No rounds, no maximum. You can just order whatever you want, how much you want, whenever you want. You can even indicate how many pieces you want per dish. No fuss with rounds, no waiting until the next round for another dish.
No fines. Although I like the rule of fines a bit, because it prevents people from over-ordering. I still prefer the absence of the rule, because it meant I did not have to overstuff myself in case I could not finish my order.

And of course the food was delicious, lol. Cannot believe I only ended up ordering 7 dishes, what the hell?! That is something that has never happened to me before, hungry as I always am.

After lunch I walked home to rest for a bit, because yoga would start in a few hours. I enjoyed the session, although some ab exercises were killing T^T. A few hours after I returned home my body started aching like crazy! I could not even finish my workout from the day before and decided to go to bed being as soar as I am.
