Study Abroad Day 21: Peek into Chinatown

Hi guys! After catching a few hours of sleep I woke up again to work on my paper and have breakfast. Unfortunately, my head started pounding like crazy after a few hours, so I decided to take a nap before doing some proofreading to finish my assignment. I did not wake up because of my alarm, oh no. I woke up because I heard an annoying ass loud sound coming from the hallway. Completely confused I rushed downstairs in my pj's to check out what was going on.

Turns out it was the bloody fire alarm and everyone was forced to leave the building T^T. It was so darn dramatic, lol. And I was sweating like crazy in the burning sun outside! I believe it turned out to be a false alarm—after three firetrucks had arrived and we had been waiting outside for a while, ugh—and the reason behind it was the extreme weather. Yes, when it comes to weather everything is extreme here. It is either extreme sunny, extremely humid, super rainy, crazy storming, or snowing like there is no tomorrow. Anyways, needless to say I missed class because of this incident. But no worries, because today was Wednesday. Wednesday is yoga day!

After yoga class, my friend and I headed to Chinatown to get some fruits and veggies. It was simply torturous. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the huge selection of food the Chinese markets here sell. My eyeballs almost popped out! Unfortunately I did not purchase any of the delicious looking Chinese cakes, candies, dumplings, cha siu baos, no nothing. Well.. I could not help myself buying green tea KitKat to bring home with me. I did buy berries, Chinese veggies, and yogurt. Also, before we went to check out the markets we stumbled upon this typical "it's useless, but it's cuuuuuute" store full of Hello Kitty and One Piece stuff. I bought a Hello Kitty eco mug and shopping bag for grocery shopping.

After grocery shopping we took the streetcar to Bloor to have some dinner, because we were starving. We decided to eat Vietnamese food at a place called Ginger—which I already visited a few days ago. I ordered the salad rolls again (chicken, shrimp, and salmon basil), and I was full as heck when I left. At home I prepped my meals for the coming days.
