Study Abroad Day 16: A week of cheating on one day

Hi everyone! Today was cheatdaaay! This is a familiar concept for those that are trying to lose weight or want to become fit. And even for those that are already in shape. As I said before, I have not really been craving junkfood since I got here. Everything has just been so overwhelming to me! But today, out of all days, I was craving junkfood so bad! And I also thought to myself, I can have vegetables whenever back at home, I should indulge in the stuff that is not available there! And so I got ready and took off to find me some grubbing Downtown.

I was on a damn mission to eat as much junkfood as possible, so I would be done with it. First I stopped by the U of T bookstore to buy a pen and pencil—the plan was to get some food, go home to eat it, and start doing my homework—and of course I ran into the one chocolate bar that I have been trying not to buy since I arrived here. It is called "Aero", and looks like what we call Bros in The Netherlands (bros, bros, broos, lol). But this is a mint chocolate version.

Then I walked down College street, because I really wanted some Taco Bell! But before I got there I passed Tim Hortons, and just hád to get a donut while I was there. I bought the double chocolate, which is a chocolate donut, covered with chocolate glazing. The Taco Bell restaurant was small, seen as it was only part of a foodcourt (those are so popular here!) and there was not really a menu, because apparently they make whatever you want. I ordered the basic beef burrito supreme and paid about 3 bucks (cheapaaass).

I was off to my next destination; Baskin Robbins. In Holland I was pretty much an icecream addict, despite my lactose intolerance, but here I had not laid hands on one icecream cone yet. And almost everyday it is icecream weather here! I was a little bit disappointed by the pick of flavors—the U.S. has many more flavors I wanted to try out like birthday cake and Snickers— but I managed to pick three. I went for the Jamoca almond fudge (some coffee brand), Mint chocolate chip, and Rocky Road. I got loads of icecreaaam, which I did not expect at all. On my way to my last destination I passed a Bath and Bodyworks store (finally!). It smelled ridiculously nice in there, and I met the nicest salesperson. I will definitely be going back there soon, if only for the nice smell.

I got me some Popeyes chicken and cajun rice to try out (I was already familiar with the chicken though, because there is a Popeyes restaurant in Suriname). I stopped by Metro to get me a drink, and bought the largest macaron I have ever encountered. But damn you Canadians! You should know better! Those damn things are called macarons, not macaroons! Out of all people, sheesh #disappointed.

My opinion on the junkfood is as follows...
- Taco Bell: For the price it was good (really affordable), but the taste was aaalright (alright alright).
- Popeyes: Not as salty/spiced as I expected. Way too greasy though! But it was nice. The cajun rice was something different. I liked the idea of minced meat with rice, but it was not as flavorful as I had hoped for.
- Baskin Robbins: Obviously, some of my icecream already melted when I got home (therefore no picture, lol). I encountered way too many almonds for my taste. Also, it was not as sweet as I expected. I am definitely not like OMG I need to try out some more.
- Tim Hortons: The donuts here are not as sweet like I am used to. I was expecting  an overwhelming chocolate flavour, so I thought it was meh.

Overall verdict: MEH

I have had enough junkfood for the coming weeks I think. Now I only need to try out some poutine (second chance, and NOT from a foodtruck, lol), nanaimo bars (hard to find though), and gumbooo. And now I am about to dive in my homework and get some rest for tomorrow!

p.s. It almost slipped my mind! But I saw Latoya Forever at Eaton square, lol. There was a meet and greet going on for another Youtuber, but Latoya was also there. She was as bubbly in person as she is on my laptop. I pasted a star on my face, unfortunately, because "Rayshaawn"—who fyi looked bored as hell, and therefore also pretty arrogant—did not bother to take a decent picture of us. My expression was all messed up, lol.
