Hi guys! Of course I did not pop no mollys, lol. But I did finally (kind of) get my party on. Today started off as a lazy-ish day (I know these are getting pretty normal now, huh. I blame the weather, lol). I absolutely refused to go outside for any other reason than to get some food. Because of the heat (and lazy assness) I did not want to travel far, in other words just cross the street for some Chinese takeout. But of course, out of all damn days Kee's truck was not there! Just my luck..
I contemplated for a while wth I would eat (need to stock up on some groceries) without having to walk more than 5 mins. I did not have a choice but to give Kee's neighbouring foodtruck (where I got that poutine, yes) another chance. I went for the hamburger and onion rings (my logic told me it would have less calories than fries, which is probably bull, hehe).
Shortly after consuming my breakfast/lunch/dinner (bad bad I know), I fell asleep. Only to wake up to texts asking me whether I could be ready in an hour to go clubbing. I got my butt up to change clothes and beautify myself. My stomach was bloated as hell, so I decided to wear high-waisted shorts. I took the subway and met with one of my new friends, and together we headed over to our meeting place. We had a fun evening filled with wine and oldschool r&b. Then we headed over to the club Downtown, where we would be meeting others.
Oh em gee, clubbing is so different here. Not necessarily in a negative way though, but it is just a bit different from what I am used to. For starters, security is so damn strict here! No caps (which I am familiar with), no white tees (?huh), no Jordans (....), no sneakers on girls. But girls can, however, wear sandals (which is totally normal here to do). Also, security inside bounces along with the music, lol. That is something I had not seen before.
Next, the clubs close at 3AM. But parties I go to only "start" around 1... Nuff said, lol. Then one of the security guards almost did not let me in, because he thought I was drunk! Just because I asked my friends questions about the age limit. He told me to go up front (?) and I said "I do not understand what you are talking about. Go where? I am not from here, so I do not know what you are referring to. I am from Amsterdam...". That is my go-to excuse here for whenever I am behind on the way things work here. I am from Amsterdam, it is that simple hehe.
Anyways, I liked that there were ATM's in the club although I did not make use of any. I did not like the absence of a wardrobe just because it is Summer. Although the DJ on the floor we hung out at most of the time mostly played hiphop music, I did have a nice time. Ahh, any DJ who plays Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison", and "Jump on it", the Fresh Prince of Bell-air themesong, and "Can't touch this" (skipped hammertime though, bad DJ bad!), wins my enthusiasm. Night night!
