Down south (Maastricht citytrip)

Today I went to visit one of my friends who lives and studies all the way in Limburg (south of the Netherlands). I had not seen her in ages, which is so strange seen as we used to live right next to each other on campus. Before my big departure abroad we decided that we just had to meet up once more just in case one of us moves far away again. It was my first time visiting Maastricht and I had a wonderful time. The city is so beautiful and picturesque and I had a hard time returning back to the north.

After she picked me up at 'de Markt' we had lunch on the terrace of 'Il Bacaro', a restaurant serving Italian tapas. Although my friend is from Vietnam she is obsessed with Italy, and she even speaks Italian. After a delicious meal we headed over to her vintage themed house, to catch up over a big cup of tea.

Then she showed me some major sites, like the city walls, bastion and Sint-Servaas bridge, and we went all Asian taking pictures of each other almost everywhere.

If you have not ever visited Maastricht, I would definitely recommend you to do so! I am a "big city" girl by heart, but even I found some peace in the lovely Maastown. God willing I will visit my friend there again before the end of the year, but until then I will enjoy wandering around in other places.
