Jazzed up meat (review Roezemoes)

Some time ago I went out for dinner on a datenight, and we decided to stop by a restaurant named Roezemoes on our way to the movies. For only €19,95, the restaurant offers a three course menu that includes a range of choices.

For starters we chose the carpaccio and breaded gamba's (i.e. prawns), of which I chose the latter. After tasting the carpaccio I was slightly bummed I did not go for either that choice, because it tasted pretty good! The gamba's were just okay, nothing special unfortunately.

As our main course, we both picked the mixed grill w/ fries and grilled vegetables. When I read the option on the menu I was kind of surprised, because I was used to seeing this dish offered at grill and/or Turkish restaurants only. When the plates were served I was even more surprised, because I was expecting way more protein! Nope, not your average mixed grill. But it was pretty good though! The meat was tender and not overcooked.

For dessert I was really looking forward to the patisserie pastries from bakery Kwekkeboom. Unfortunately, these cakes were not available and I opted for the crème brulee. Not the best one I have had, but good enough for me!

The atmosphere at the restaurant was pretty informal, and the staff was very nice. When I had lunch there before, I really enjoyed the option of sitting either inside or on the terrace outside.
