♡ Rainbow maki + Genroku maki
Long time no food review, huh?! Today's review is one that is long overdue, but probably still useful seen as the concept is still offered. Loyal readers of mine know that I am very familiar w/ the AYCE (all you can eat) concept of Japanese styled restaurants, and have thus become quite picky.
I had visited Genroku before where I tried the regular AYCE concept, but this time I wanted to try out their AYCE eat ánd drink menu! This included free soft and hot drinks, a discount on alcohol, unlimited salmon sashimi, ánd special order sushi you usually pay extra for.
♡ Ebi furai sushi maki & salmon sashimi + Chira shi don + Dragon maki + Spider maki
Although the makis were a bit smaller than I would have liked them to be, they tasted good. Of course you should not expect any fine cuisine sushi at AYCE places, but these were pretty tasty!
♡ Spicy prawn, Curry chicken, Ramu yaki, Ebi furai
My favorite dishes of the evening were my all-time favorite gyu don (beef and onions w/ rice), chira shi don (sashimi w/ sushi rice) and the genroku maki (w/ scallop).
♡ Gyu don + Teppenyaki mushroom + Crispy fishcake + Tempura ebi maki
I mainly chose the added drink concept, because I love sashimi and trying out special makis. I could really recommend it if you happen to visit the restaurant on a Sun-Wed, enjoy the special makis and sashimi, and definitely if you get thirsty easily! It will only cost you €6 extra on top of the regular AYCE price of €25,50.
