Ooey gooey (review Woodstone)

Today my friends and I had dinner to celebrate a birthday. The birthday girl insisted on having dinner at an Italian restaurant named Woodstone, assuring me that the food there would fulfill my needs although Italian cuisine was not my favorite.

Although we were only with three people, we decided to only order two starters. Just in case our main courses would be too heavy on the stomach. We chose the calamaris (squid rings) and a dish that was recommended to us; mushrooms with melted cheese.

I would recommend you to eat at this restaurant courtesy to this dish. The bread sticks were wonderfully soft and chewy, and the mushrooms were spiced accordingly. I would have rather skipped the squid rings and ordered the mushrooms in a melting pot of gooey cheese twice.

I ordered the lasagna, which one of my friends also picked, and the birthday girl went for the chicken pasta. I did not try out her dish, seen as I was too busy drooling over the cheese melting pot and my lasagna. I liked the addition of parmezan cheese and rocket on top, but the lasagna itself tasted slightly bland.

For dessert I chose tea with brownie and one of my friends ordered yogurt icecream with fruit. The brownie was not really special, nor was the icecream. But I really liked the packaging of the tea bag!

All in all, I really recommend you to try out the starter with mushrooms and cheese there. Have you ever had dinner at this restaurant or are you as fanatic about melted cheese as I am?
