Single Ladies' Val Stokes (Eps 2+3)

One of my favorite shows to watch back in 2011 was most definitely VH1's "Single Ladies", featuring Stacey Dash and LisaRaye. Although the second season also had me sitting on the edge of my chair thanks to Keisha's storyline, I am still bummed we did not get to see Val back! One of my main reasons for missing her on the show, was her fabulous style! Anthony L. Williams, whose name you might have recognised from Heidi Klum's show "Project Runway", is the brain behind all the styling of the ladies throughout the show.

This new series is dedicated to Val's style in season 1, and will show you all the outfits she wore to inspire your wardrobe! Underneath every outfit I briefly share my personal opinion on them. Enjoy! Warning: Contains spoilers

Episode 2: Cry Me a River

Outfit 1

This tightskinned grey number made her, dare I say it, boobs look humongous! I really liked the detailing on the side of her hips though, it really makes her curves stand out. Also, I have always been a sucker for gray clothing..

Outfit 2

"No matter how many times you dip your chocolate stick in vanilla icecream", this scene is way too funny. And then Casey shows up out of nowhere... "He could get it" according to Keshia and April, "all of it" in fact. And he could also be put in his place by feisty Val, hehe... Gorgeous white dress, again complementing her skintone so well.

Outfit 3

Uh oh... This is right before Val gets burned bad by Daryl.. I am not too crazy about the flared pants, but  I would definitely wear the upper half of her outfit! Although I am not sure how appropriate it would be to have my bra peeping out like hers..

Outfit 4

The dress does not wow me, but I think Val looked really pretty in it.. I really liked how she plays hard to get towards Casey, hehe... "friend".

And this already concludes the second episode's outfit compilation! Ain't it a shame.. It was a good episode though... But not very memorable in terms of styling. So on to the next one!

Episode 3: Incedent Proposal

Outfit 1

This was just a really simple outfit. I guess too simple for my taste. The color would not be the first I would choose for her to rock.

Outfit 2

This dress actually just seems to me like a shirt that is way too long for her. I really liked her hair in a bun and the combination of black clothing with white pearls though! Very classy! However, looking at it from a closer distance, the necklaces do seem a bit uncomfortable... And maybe a bit too fake? Of course I am no expert, so please do correct me if I am wrong and these are the real deal. The tights looked a bit out of place to me. I would have just chosen sheer black tights, because the pearls already demand so much attention. Or one pearl necklace and these tights.

Outfit 3

This dress looked absolutely gorge on her! The vibrant color is such a beautiful contrast with her skin looking like honey! I think a color like this is best rocked if you have a tan and brown to dark hair. I can also see pale Asians with black hair, or red heads rocking this number.  But prove me wrong if you want to!

Outfit 4

I did not like the jeans and gold belt at all! The only thing I appreciate about this outfit is the way her shirt is cut. Really nice way of showing cleavage and shoulders.

Outfit 5

I am so curious to know what Val was weaing underneath this cardigan! Too many necklaces for my taste, but definitely a good way to spice up such a simple outfit! I like the nude shoes that elongate her legs.

Outfit 6

Not dining on Southern cuisine, meh... April should have known better than that!! We did not get to see Val's outfit completely here, because she sat during the whole scene. Attention was supposed to be drawn to her earrings I am sure of! Although they look nice on her, frankly I am not too sure whether I would take them off her earlobes if I had the power to do so. I think I would rather opt for a nice pair of gold chandeliery earrings.

This concludes my second TV-celeb inspo post, starring Val Stokes from VH1's "Single Ladies". Let me know in a comment below which outfit you liked the most!
