Part of my job as a fashion intern is to visit launches of anything fashion related, such as store openings or designer collaborations. This year two major fashion chains opened in Amsterdam, and I visited both launch parties. The party at Forever 21 was super crowded, but when is it ever quiet at a F21? We also got a discount, which made it even better!
And then there was the grand opening of F21's neighbor Pull&Bear... At first I was planning to go with my supervisor, but seen as she could not make it I decided to skip too. Unfortunately, no one else from the editorial staff felt like going either. And at least someone had to attend the party in the name of Cosmo. Seen as it was a fashion related affair, and I was the only other staff member of that department aside from my supervisor, I got the lovely task. #andysachsmoment
The invitation made the get-together actually sound way more attractive than it was. Not only would there be drinks and food, which is always a plus unless it is a profiterole stuffed with pom, but there would also be a DJ spinning. The DJ was actually a Dutch actor named Geza Weisz. Needless to say I had to take a picture with him, for press purposes of course cough cough. In the end, the launch party looked like a regular koopavond in Amsterdam. I did not buy anything, but there was some cute and affordable stuff though!
