Being Mary Jane inspo (Eps 4)
Hi loves! One of my favorite shows to watch last season was definitely Being Mary Jane. Aside from the story line and acting, an important feature that makes the show stand out to me is the wardrobe styling. I have a weakness for the type of power woman outfits Mary Jane sports on a regular base, and she almost makes me want to dust off the heels in my shoe closet. In awaiting for the second season to finally start I thought I would get us in the mood again with some TV-celeb inspo, showing you all the fab outfits Mary Jane rocked in the first season. Enjoy! Warning: Might contain spoilers!
Episode 4: The Huxtables Have Fallen
Outfit 1
Talk about embarrasing! At least her outfit was on point... I loved the top's halter neckline and ruffles.
Outfit 2
I always think black looks good on MJ, so I cannot bad mouth the outfit. I was not wow-ed, but it was a gorgeous dress nonetheless.
Outfit 3
Simple, yet eye-catching. I could appreciate this number, even with the lack of accessoires.
Outfit 4
Pretty teal. Elegant, simple. Love the contrast with the red purse, so I was pretty much sold.
Outfit 5
Love the ripped jeans and the white jacket. I believe she wore the jacket once already, but on a dress. A-ok with me!
Let me know in a comment what your favorite outfit was from the fourth episode! I vote for the last two, because I think the color contrast between her red purse and teal dress was beautiful, and I just really liked her latter casual chique outfit.

Lemon poppy seed muffins (recipe)
Hi guys! For ages I have been on a hunt for simply a bottle of vanilla extract. Unfortunately, I still have not gotten my hands on one! To satisfy my sweet tooth cravings the other day I thus decided to bake some (unhealthy) lemon poppy seed muffins with yes, refined sugar. They were very simple to make and came out delicious, especially when they came fresh out of the oven. Next time I will try to make only half of the recipe, seen as I ended up with an overload of muffins and no one to finish them with! Happy baking!
Ingredients (about 15 servings): 3 cups of flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tbsp poppy seeds, 10 tbsp softened unsalted butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 1/2 cup low-fat yogurt, 1 tbsp lemon zest, 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions: Preheat your oven at 190°C. • Whisk together the dry ingredients (with the exception of sugar) and set aside. • Mix butter and sugar in another bowl until fluffy. • Mix in the eggs one by one. • Mix in the lemon zest. • Add 1/3 of the flour mixture and beat just until the flour is covered. Then add 1/3 of the yogurt. Repeat this two more times and be careful not to over beat. • Put paper muffin cups in your muffin tin and distribute the mixture. I used about 5 tbsp of batter per cup. • Bake for 10 mins and check for browning. • Turn the pan 180°, bake for another 10 mins and check with a toothpick if the muffins are done. • Bake the muffins for 30 mins max, depending on your oven. Mine is small, so I needed less cooking time. • Set the muffins aside to cool down. • Whisk together the lemon juice and powdered sugar to make the glaze and coat muffins according to your liking.
Enjoy!

Being Mary Jane inspo (Eps 2+3)
Hi loves! One of my favorite shows to watch last season was definitely Being Mary Jane. Aside from the story line and acting, an important feature that makes the show stand out to me is the wardrobe styling. Episode 2: Storm Advisory
Because MJ only showed us two outfits in the second episode, I decided to include her wardrobe shenenigans from the third one as well!
Outfit 1
I really like her two-toned trenchcoat! I think it looked pretty cute with her casual Uggs, lol. I think the white dress was also gorgeous on MJ, I think it complements her skintone a lot.
Outfit 2
I am iffy about this outfit. I love the color, but I am not sure if I am a big fan of the peasant-esque top. I do think the red of her shawl matched well with the green color!
On to the next episide already!
Episode 3: Girls Night In
Outfit 1
Well, this was just a casual outfit, but not one with a wow-factor for me. I do appreciate the pop of color her purse gives to any outfit she is sporting.
Outfit 2
I like! Especially the glasses and flowy shirt. Maybe not a huge fan of the white stripes on the trousers, but all-in-all I like the outfit. It requires a lot of attitude to rock it properly!
Outfit 3
I like black dresses and red lips on MJ, so I was A-ok with this ensemble.
Outfit 4
Another casual outfit for MJ! I only liked the top with the blazer on. I was not a fan of the orange detailing you could see when she took off her jacket.
Outfit 5
I think she looked gorgeous in this scene, and found the dress to be very summer-y!
Let me know in a comment what your favorite outfit was from the second and third episode! I vote for the outfit #1, because I think the white dress was gorgeous, and I liked the casual feel of the trenchcoat/Uggs combo!

Crazy for co-ordinates (shopping)
Hi guys! I have never been the type of person to go shopping every season. I hardly ever buy clothing full prize, and loved looking for hidden gems on vintage (shoe) markets as a kid. The only reason I have an extensive wardrobe, including never worn clothes I have to admit, is because I still rock the same stuff I got years ago. Although I am not a shopping addict, which is of course also contingent on my budget, I most definitely get satisfaction from the aesthetically pleasing nature of fashion. In other words: I love (online) window shopping!
The other day I noticed that on some websites you can find a Co-Ordinates category now. If I could I would probably walk around in matchy sets all day everyday. I love the fact that you can pair a top and bottom piece to make up a stunning outfit, but also mix and match them easily with the rest of your wardrobe. Check out the sets I have been eyeing online down below!
1. Wine red, Topshop / Sparkle, River Island
4. Sparkle, River Island / Flowers, H&M

Being Mary Jane inspo (Eps. 1)

Episode 1: Pilot
Outfit 1
Did you guys spot the sexy mesh back of the dress? A very day to night ensemble.
Outfit 2
Mary Jane sure loves her mesh, lol.
Outfit 3
I liked the outfit better with the jacket on, because it gave it some extra oomph with the contrasting colors.
Outfit 4
This dress reminded me of a painting and spring flowers, lol. I really liked it, although it was a bit chique for the office.
Outfit 5
And here MJ gave us a short demonstration of the important role shoes play in the whole look and feel of your outfit. Left: casual, right: casual chique.
Outfit 6
MJ's last outfit was very casual. I loved the vibrant color of the pants, although I am personally not too keen on harem-esque design.
Let me know in a comment what your favorite outfit was from the first episode! I vote for the first one, because the dress has such a surprise factor!
