The other day I had a quasi goodbye dinner with friends, because one of them is leaving soon for an internship abroad. Usually we visit Asian restaurants, and this evening was no exception. We decided to eat at a place we had not been for a while (A-Fusion). Although I only had dinner there twice before this evening, my memories of the food that was served then were very fond. Unfortunately, I did not realize the menu card had changed tremendously from when I had dinner there before.
Maybe I am out of my mind (after all, this all happened at least 7-8 years ago), but according to my memories the restaurant served such large portions we could hardly finish them. Tonight, however, we were served Asian finger foods basically. But believe me, they came with a price tag of an entrée. We ordered two types of salad (beef and Thai chicken), spicy tuna maki, Chinese broccoli, beef teppanyaki, unagi rice, and salt and pepper prawns.
Unfortunately, I did not leave the restaurant feeling content. The flavors were definitely nice, but for the price we paid I would have rather visited the neighbors (New King) and left home with a doggy bag. All in all, however, we had a lovely evening and I am glad we got to catch up again.
Also, I got some belated birthday presents, which really surprised me. The gifts were so sweet, and the effort taken to actually pick out something especially for me is just priceless. My favorite gift is without a doubt the new addition to my book collection! A book about philosophy over the years, which is just perfect for me. All of my favorite guys are in there, from Siddhartha, to Confucius, from Plato to Epicurus, and so on. The only one missing is my good old stoic friend Seneca, but ah well. I will not complain about that!
