Two thousand and thirteen, oh t'was definitely a memorable year. Although it probably sounds pretty typical, I am still going to claim this year passed by so quickly in comparison to other years. I have learned so much about myself this year and that every cloud has a silver lining. Although I wish I would have done some things differently, I do not regret at all the choices I have made in my life so far. All the crap and all the good I have been through were supposed to be a part of my journey, and I have learned my lessons from them.
The past years my patience was really tested, but 2013 decided to give me a break and surprised me by making my dreams come to life out of the blue. Although I am thankful and grateful for many things that have happened to me, there are some key moments of joy I will not be forgetting any time soon. For starters, I remember very well the day I got an email confirmation that I was accepted for the Master's program I wanted to enroll in. I planned on taking the pre-Master courses and start the actual course the next semester, but I could immediately start without taking preparatory classes. A few months later I got an email congratulating me for being selected for the exchange program with the University of Toronto. I cannot even slightly describe the feelings I was experiencing. Going abroad and going to school in North-America had been a dream of mine since I started watching television as a youngster. Obviously I watched Degrassi and Lizzie McGuire and what not every day. Another moment I remember really well is when I got an email that I was one of the lucky people to be offered a rental contract for an apartment in a new flat.
Ah technology has played such an important role this year, hehe. I actually received another dream *half coming true* email, but more about that in the near future maybe. I do not have a list of new years resolutions, because I strive to be a better version of myself as often as I can. There are two things I would like to become habits of mine again though, namely daily writing in my diary and starting exercising again. I wish you all a happy new year and I hope you enjoy your New Year's Eve with the people you love!
P.s. Another few highlights that cannot be overlooked are obviously the birth of my little niece, making new friends, and staying in love.
